I am Lecturer of Sociology at the School of Social Sciences, Monash University. My research with migrants is interested in the production and experiences of difference, with a focus on ethnic relations, social inequalities, class, gender and decolonisation.
Prior to my current position, I was Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation (ADI). From 2018 to 2020, I was Postdoctoral Fellow at the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore. I completed a Doctor of Philosophy at the School of Social and Political Sciences, University of Melbourne, as a recipient of the Melbourne International Research Scholarship and Melbourne International Fee Remission Scholarship. I received a Master of Development Studies from the University of Melbourne in 2011. In 2006, I received a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in Political Science, from the National University of Singapore.
